Distortion Arts Project this Thursday Night!

Well, this is my first posting on a blog and seeing where the day takes me on it.

We are the Distortion Arts Project, a group of 15 emerging artists from the Philly tri-state region who simply got tired of the same old-same old of the First Friday scenarios, Rittenhouse Arts Crawls and other things. We just wanted a place to do fun creative theater meets arts events around the city and came up with this creative fun!

We have a mix for everyone in our representative artists from the 22 yo straight male punk photographer, 25 yo bi female pop artisan to the 53 yo straight abstract painter. We are going into our 8th event and adding artists and building a fan base in each occuring event.

Our next event is this coming Thursday August 16th at Triumph Brewing Company 117 Chestnut Street in Old City. Distortion: Superheroes. Come out and see what the Distorted Team will bring to you.

Triumph is pulling out the kegs of their amazing Fresh-Brewed selections for a $3 per pint, $4 wine and $5 Smirnoff Appletini's.

The evening is benefitting the Walk For Hope on October 14, 2007 for the City of Hope Cancer Centers. We will be charging a $10 cover and Distortion will be giving 25% of the door and art sales go to Walk For Hope and City of Hope.

Bring your special powers, your friends for a fun entertaining evening with the Distorted crew. View some fun and funky art, reconnect with your favorite SuperFriends (and yeah there's a little story) and eat and drink your favorite elixir.

Be creative and come dressed as your favorite SuperFriend, Alias or Side Kick and you may get a creative prize!
